This article presents an analysis of the impact that the gratuity and the single fare have on the functioning and sustainability of the transport system of Curitiba. For this data has been used in time series, related to urban mobility and accessibility. We used 16 indicators that included since the number of inhabitants of Curitiba, the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba and the Central Urban Core and its projection for the next ten years and its relation to the number of private vehicles, until the proportion between the number of passengers carried and the number of passengers paying. It was concluded that the sustainability of the transport system is directly linked to three key indicators: the rate of motorization ? inhabitant ratio x number of cars ? the number of passengers carried and the number of paying passengers on public transport.
