The Association of Councilors and Mayors of Bolivia-ACOBOL, was created in 1999 with the purpose of representing and defending the rights and interests of its associates, strengthening their capacities as democratically elected authorities, so that the performance in their mandate, is carried out effectively, thus helping to reduce inequality gaps between women and men at the local level. As established by the Political Constitution of the Bolivian State, it carries out its actions claiming the aspirations of women's political participation, under conditions of equality, without any type of discrimination based on race, culture, ethnicity, level of education or municipality to which they belong.
