As an objective to disseminate knowledge and promote research on Local Government, the Ibero-American Center of Governability Administration and Local Public Policies (CIGOB), makes the biannual Ibero-American Journal of Local Government (RIGL), a scientific digital publishing tool,  available to the Ibero-American community.

This scientific journal (RIGL, ISSN: 2173-8254) came about in 2011 with the aim to contribute placid and rigorous analysis of political, legal, economic, social and cultural questions that affect and are relevant to the local sphere.   It is structured in several sections: first, the “Guest Editor,” which includes reflections on local current affairs expressed by persons of recognised prestige in the Ibero-American world.   A second section is dedicated to research work, which are written in Spanish as well as Portuguese; a third oriented to more practical issues such as best practices in both public and private management; a fourth to announce newly published literature, legal, political, social and  economic reports and documents relevant to the local sphere; a fifth designated to highlight relevant Ibero-American normative provisions.  And one final section which covers conferences, courses, seminars and events of interest for cities and municipalities.

All the sections are developed under rigorous academic criteria with the hope of offering broad information and expanding knowledge on local issues and from here on, with a very practical search system which will allow for consultation by author, subject or labels in any of the published volumes.
