All objectives described above were priorities Aid funds that the European Commission has allocated through the Development Cooperation Instrument (DCI ) for cooperation with Latin America in its latest multi-year 2007-2013 , still in development , targets on the Association Agreements . In this context, and in order to shed new light on development cooperation that the European Commission implements in Latin American countries , the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean ( ECLAC), together with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation development ( AECID ) , the study presents an overview of cooperation implemented until May 2013 by the European Commission for the current multiannual program 2007-2013 in Latin America funded under the Development Cooperation Instrument . Among others, seeks to answer some general questions . Namely : What is development cooperation that the European Commission has committed and implemented in recent years in the region? In which countries and in which sectors ? What are the future prospects for the next period 2014-2020 European cooperation?
As a way to contribute to the answer of the questions addressed here , from detailed information on the various settings (regional , subregional and bilateral) discloses the types of aid from the European Commission on Latin America 2007 - 2013 , still running, its structure , programming and implementation, beneficiary countries and priority sectors. This typology has been made following the logic of regional programming for the Geographic Programme referred to in ICD for the region and the various strategic documents of the European Commission for Latin America , the same as were consulted them critically.
