Avanzar en la construcción de un espacio cultural compartido. Desarrollo de la carta cultural iberoamericana.

The Ibero-American Cultural Charter adopted by the Summit of Heads of State and Government in Montevideo in 2006, raises, as a requirement, that the Latin American culture is recognized and consolidated as one of the backbones of our collective life. Its main objectives can be summarized in three imperatives, namely affirming the core value of culture for human development, promote and protect cultural diversity and strengthen the Iberoamerican cultural space. It is essential to promote reflection on the role of culture in the development of peoples in a world increasingly globalized and growing penetration of technology in multicultural societies. Such reflection should contribute to transformative action that grants the necessary centrality of culture in the development of peoples and the welfare and good living of citizens. The intent of this document is to promote collective action to respond to these historic challenges from the mandates and objectives contained in the Charter Cultural Iberoamericana.
