The current local childhood and adolescent policies in Spain are presented as an example of humanizing public policies that combine different approaches aimed at guaranteeing the rights and comprehensive well-being of children and adolescents. To this end, a genealogy of these policies has been drawn taking into account the main international and national milestones that have influenced their configuration and the main approaches that transversally qualify this type of policies have been described.
The author proposes to raise awareness and value the approach of links and care implicit in local policies for childhood and adolescence and, as an example based on this approach, proposes a multilevel model of municipal intervention in mental health applicable to childhood and adolescence.
