From Frederick Taylor to Henry Fayol, just to name a few precursors to the scientific management of the late 19th century, the private management influence in the public field is recognized. Specifically, it is intended to establish the relationship between the public management and the most outstanding innovative initiatives applied in the local management of a municipality, in this case the Villa Maria city of Cordoba, Argentina in the last 20 years. It emphasizes on identifying the innovative policies implemented and accompanied by the new information and communication technologies. In addition, they will be important in order to analyze the answers that the public management can provide after the pandemic context. To achieve this objective, a brief historical review will be performed about the public management and its virtues for the implementation of innovative public policies at the local level. Moreover, The concept of innovation and public innovation will be traced. Finally, some innovative policies will be introduced to conclude with certain postpandemic contributions. Note that this document is based primarily on the review and analysis of international, regional and local bibliographic reference thus it is mainly theoretical, with periods of application in the refernced city.
