The objective of this paper is to analyze the effective functioning of local corporations, based on the review of the scientific literature and good professional practices, which focus on the development of healthy organizations and especially on one of their fundamental resources, how is the leadership. The effective functioning and quality of the service of organizations, and among them the local corporations, requires that these be healthy organizations, so that, they pay special attention to the health and well-being of their members. To achieve this, it is necessary to employ planned, systematic and proactive resources, related to work (well-designed and significant jobs), the social environment (satisfactory and supportive relationship between members and the boss) and the whole organization (equitable and accessible policies for personal and professional development).
