This study presents the results of the evaluation of the impact of the program CRIAR. This program aims to increase the levels of income and food security through the improvement of productivity arising from the adoption of agricultural technologies. Data from a survey of 1,287 households with agricultural vocation (817 beneficiaries and 470 non-beneficiaries) was used for this study. The results obtained, using a quasi-experimental method of Propensity Score Matching, demonstrate that the program had significant impacts on both the short and medium term indicators. Specifically in the short term indicators, the program had a positive impact in the provision of land of the crops of higher value, and in the expenses of inputs and agricultural machinery. In the medium-term indicators, the program had a positive impact in the proportion of the production destined for market sale and in the agricultural income per sale. The program also had two positive impacts on the food security of beneficiary households. In terms of long term indicators, the program did not identify significant impacts in variables of value or gross margins of production. This is likely due to the fact that the data analyzed corresponds to only one agricultural or farming cycle, which is not a sufficient period of time to generate effects in the productivity that arises from efficient technology management and the changes in production factors associated with the adaption of technology. Nevertheless, the impacts found on short and medium term indicators demonstrate that the program had considerable effects that predict the extent of the long term goals in the future.
