The Government of the City of Buenos Aires launched BA Climate Action, an open data, accountability, innovation and co-creation platform that brings together energy efficiency, sustainability and waste management policies to combat climate change in the city.
Aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement, the platform was co-created with environmental civil society organizations, experts and citizens.
It includes the Climate Action Plan 2050 of Buenos Aires; the city's goals to be a carbon neutral, resilient and inclusive city by 2050; 30 open data sets to encourage citizen monitoring and to be re-used for decision making; collective intelligence actions to encourage participation in climate action; and, environmental education policies for prevention and adaptation.
